Photo to scrap or scrap to photo?

Hi,

I'm just getting started with this and my favourite layouts are the ones with people within the elements e.g. http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/theartwall/showphoto.php?photo=63194&title=secret-garden&cat=541

I know everyone is different but out of interest what do you find works best? Do you select a photo you already have and build the scrap around it or do you take a specific photo with a scrap page already in mind?

depends on wether I'm going to scrap for my CT's or if I'm scrapping with specific photos, like say for my girls' 1st year album. But I choose to work with a kit from a designer, I always have a photo in mind to use it with.

Thanks, now that I have done quite a few more I agree it seems to work better if I have an idea of what the page is going to look like first before taking the photos.

I design a creation and then I take a good picture to go with it.
