Tuesday Tips and Tricks

Category : Tips and Tricks

Hi girls,

Miranda here from the sunny Netherlands. Today I am bringing you a simple photoshop trick but it is very useful…

When doing detail work on an image you may need to zoom in to take a closer look at the pixels. But to make sure that any changes you’re making in this magnified state will look realistic at a normal view you’ll have to zoom out for a quick look. Here’s a great tip – instead of zooming in and out you can have the same image open in two windows at the same time.
With an open image selected choose Window> Arrange> New Window (the original file name will be listed). The same image will now appear in a new second window.
Keep one window set at 100% to see your effects, and work in the second window – either zoomed in or zoomed out.

Hope this trick will bring you any help!!

Have a great day!

Tuesday word on the street

Category : Inspiration, Tips and Tricks

Hi everyone, steph here with your Tuesday Word on the Street. I’m here today to talk about a ” bucket full of carots” .

I found this on an amazing blog “ a peek into my stamping room” by Debbie Seyer

Soon we will celebrate Easter and I find this idea very original  to slide into the chocolate eggs  and other candies

Don’t you think?

Why not customize them with kits from our shop, or make a family for the holidays, I’m sure all ages will be happy .

You’ll even find an explicative notice , load the carrot box template on the blog by Debbie

remember to thank her for his kindness and his explanations ;)

Tuesday Tips and Tricks – Tutorial

Category : Tips and Tricks

Hi sweets, Steph here with you to talk you about font and make a journaling.

My tutorial will be in french, because my english is unfortunatly too poor … I hope this tutorial will be useful anyway !

1001freefonts

Dafont

Fontspace

Fontstock

Kevinandamanda

Scrapvillage

Simplythebest

Urban fonts

- barre de menu -> fenêtre->paragraphe

- barre de menu ->fenêtre ->caractère

Steph

Tuesday Tips and Tricks – Tutorial

Category : Tips and Tricks

Hi lovelies ! Véronique here to bring you your tuesday tips and tricks. Today I’ll make a tutorial. Unfortunatly my english is not good enough and I’ll do it in french but it’s very illustrated and I hope most of you will be able to understand what I am talking about ! So let’s go !

On obtient ça :

Enjoy :)

Tips & Tricks : Tutorial

Category : Tips and Tricks

Hi there, Vero here to talk you about shadows ! But first of all I want to wish you a happy, funny and merry new year ! I hope you enjoyed christmas time and you had great holidays !

My tutorial will be in french, because my english is unfortunatly too poor … I hope this tutorial will be useful anyway ! I think so, because many of my scrap friends were wondering how to do …

Enjoy ! And happy scrapping !

Tuesday Word on the Street

Category : Tips and Tricks

Good Morning Everyone!  It’s Patti here with my very first blog post as a member of the  A5D team.

The holidays are rapidly approaching and I’m sure like everyone else you have a little stress occuring over it all.  So much to do, so little time.  If you are anything like me, you likely wonder, why you can’t bottle all that time and energy up and use it somewhere else.  All those preparations that we do to make things ‘just perfect’ in our minds is over in a matter of minutes, with children and adults, ripping and tearing the gift wrap and eating up all those delicious treats.  Really though it is all about,  seeing smiling faces and the enjoyment others get from all of our hard work and efforts, isn’t it?  THE MEMORIES and photo opportunities:)

I did come across a neat blog the other day, “The Adventures of Bluegirlx0″ and Julie Collins, had an amazing and ‘super easy’ craft idea – Bottle Brush Wreath – Friday Dec 3/2010 post.  I thought it would be a great idea to add to our Christmas Decorating and give a little ‘fun’ moment during all the hustle and bustle of the upcoming holidays!

(All photos from The Adventures of Bluegirlxo blog)

supply list: gather together a little wreath (tacky and new is best), some tinsel, stamens, mica, narrow ribbon for a bow, and some tacky glue.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a great Tuesday and get a chance to try this cute little craft sometime during your busy holiday preparations.

Tips & Tricks: Text Paths

Category : Tips and Tricks

Greetings!  Have you ever wanted to work with text paths, but just weren’t sure how?  I’ve created a quick and easy tutorial that will show you some basics.  This tutorial was created using PhotoShop CS5, but works in other versions too.

Text paths are a unique way to add journaling to your page, so let’s get started.  The first thing you will need to do, is decide what shape you want your text path to follow.  To do this, go to your custom shapes tool.  This can be found on your toolbar palette or by hitting the “U” key.  Once you’ve selected your shape, make sure you have the paths icon selected (vs. the shapes layers option) in the upper left hand corner. Now draw your path onto your canvas.

Now it’s time to choose a font, and type your text.  I always align my text to the left so that the text will start where I initiate my text path.  To start your path, click directly on the text path.  This will add a text to the outside of the path.

If you’d like to add text to the inside of your path, you can do this by transforming your path.  To do this, select your text layer from your layers palette and flip it vertically (or horizontally).

Lastly, if you want to create a shaped text both, you can put your cursor inside the path. Notice I’ve justified the text in my paragraph options so that it accentuates the shape of the text box.

Happy scrapping!

Tips and Tricks: Using Brushes

2

Category : Tips and Tricks

Greeting!  Have you ever wanted to use brushes, but just weren’t sure how?  I’d like to shed a little light on how to use brushes!  This tutorial was created using PhotoShop CS3, but works in other versions too.

Once you’ve decided to use a brush, make a new layer.  Adding a brush to an existing layer will limit you flexibility.

Once you have your layer open, you can add brushes to your design, one of two ways.  The first way I’m going to demonstrate is the quickest.  Navigate to your tool bar and select your brush too (shortcut key B).

Next select your brush.  I’ve selected one of Cinnamon Design’s fabulous Brush Circles!  You can adjust the size before you add it to your canvas, if you’d like.  You maintain better quality by adjust the size before you add it to your canvas.

Now “stamp” it onto your page, being careful to ensure it is completely captured within your canvas!  You should see an outline of the brush when you hover over you canvas.   Left click once to add your brush.    Feel free to move it around or apply different layer styles (colors, patterns, gradients, etc) or change the blending options and/or opacity.

If you want to do something advanced, you can add brushes using the brush palette.  To use your brush palette, you can either hit F5 or go to Window -> Brushes.

Once you have your brush palette up, select brush tip shape, you can flip or rotate your brush as desired.  You can also experiment with all of the other features within the palette.

Voile, here is the finished product with two brush layers!

Happy scrapping!
