Hello There,
I hope your all enjoying the last of the summer,Im karen and im interrupting your scrapping time to show you our featured designer and her Beautiful designs and to also share an interview that Emilia kindly answered earlier for us
- Please tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Emilia. I’m Bulgarian and I live in Sofia. I’m married with two daughters.
- What is a typical day like for you
With two little kids it is very hard to describe a typical day.
/or maybe it’s better to skip this question/
- How did you get into designing?
I started digi scrapping at the end of 2007 and I got addicted to it. I really loved this way of expressing my creative needs. During all my maternity leaves (almost 4 years) I went on making layouts and throughout this period I was a creative artist for many designers. Then the idea to start designing came naturally. I made my first kit and it was very well accepted so I continued.
- How long does it take for you to design a kit?
I don’t know for sure – from one week to 3 weeks.
- What inspires you?
A lot of things may inspire me. I love using photographs, elements from landscape, all beautiful things around.
- Please show us two of your all time favorite kits (you designed!)
Maybe “Honey brown tale” and “It’s your special day” because they are my most successful kits but I always love my newest releases, so “Catch the waves” and ” Let the story begin..” are my personal favorites for now.
- Do you have a specific style?
I prefer whimsical, dreamy and romantic styles. I also prefer to draw the elements in my kits rather than using realistic ones. I always search for uniqueness and I love to experiment with styles and techniques.
- Do you have a vision of what a kit will look like
when you start it?
I always have a concept and a theme when I start working on a new kit but often at the end it turns to something different.
- Who are your scrapping/designing heros?
My favorite designer is Jofia Devoe. My scrapping heroes are the girls from my creative team. I have the best team.
- What is your favorite NSBR thing to do?
I love to spend time with the kids, I like walking with them, photographing them or just watching TV or a movie.
- What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to become an architect and I almost achieved it when I graduated as a landscape architect.
- And no After 5 interview would be complete without
this question…What is your favorite after hours drink?
Gin+tonic
